Eric Rhoda came to First Presbyterian Church in Kerrville in July 2008. As Associate Pastor Eric’s primary responsibility is developing and leading The Well, FPC’s ministry to students and their families. He counts it a blessing and a joy that he gets to hang out with, encourage, and walk alongside junior high and high school students in their journey of faith. A guiding scripture for Eric’s life and ministry is Philippians 1.9-11.
Eric was born and raised in Aurora, Colorado but has a special place in his heart for the Pacific Northwest, having attended Seattle Pacific University. In 2004 Eric and his wife Julie moved to Princeton, New Jersey where he attended Princeton Theological Seminary, and received the degrees of Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Youth Ministry. Eric’s favorite person to hang out with is his wife, Julie House-Rhoda, who, in addition to working at Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital is pursuing a second Bachelors degree in order to become a Registered Nurse.
In his free time (and sometimes even in his busy time!) Eric loves all things sports. If there is a ball and you keep score, he is in! Currently he is enjoying the opportunity to play golf on a regular basis, but will enjoy it more once he shoots below 90. In addition to athletic pursuits, Eric is an avid reader, movie buff, and a music lover. He thinks iTunes & the iPod are the greatest inventions of the 21st century!
